Mads in Toronto for TIFF; upcoming changes

I have heard from a long-time blog reader (hi Laura!) that Mads will be in Toronto since he will have two films debuting there; After the Wedding and Prague. It seems like he has a big fall planned what with the release of Prague, Casino Royale and the Swedish thriller Exit. Laura wonders if he will finally break it big internationally. I say, but of course!

Since I have decided that my next career is in film, I am attending the World Film Festival Festival des Films du Monde for research and in preparation of going to the Toronto International Film Festival. It isn't guaranteed, as I have a scheduling conflict. A friend in the business says the international studios are there from September 7 to the 11th, and unless I can get someone to fill in for me, I could only get there on the 10th. I have to research whether Mads' press conferences are open to the public and also look after my own career research to make the most out of networking with people.

Finally, as part of August's plan to Finish What I Start and "fix my mads mikkelsen page in a major way" as well as many other goals on 43 Things, (because I was laid off from my full-time job at the end of June and have been completing major works since then such as three major essays for school - which means I'm done and I graduate next June - and other smaller projects, and finally the big decision on a new career), a lot of changes to this website are coming down the pipe. Stay tuned, perhaps by using the RSS feed. Details to come.

Pusher Trilogy gets Salon coverage!

I just visited my daily dose of Salon to find that the Pusher trilogy is being covered in their weekly Beyond The Multiplex column. I am pleased as all get out. Here is the teaser:

Beyond the Multiplex
Will the "Pusher" trilogy -- three violent, low-budget films about the mean streets of Copenhagen -- be the next "Sopranos"?
By Andrew O'Hehir

Again, the link is http://www.salon.com/ent/movies/review/2006/08/17/btm/

You have to click an ad to view the article, unless you're a subscriber. They also have an RSS feed, about which I will know more shortly!

Edited to add: oh god. The actress who plays Tonny's probable-baby-momma has the same name as my mother.
