In exactly one week, I get to meet my Danish relatives (note to self: brush up on language skills). But even more relevant:
This is at www.europeanfilms.net. They cite NFTF as the source.NEWS IN BRIEF: 'Valhalla rising', 'Comme tout le monde', 'Efter brylluppet'...

Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn dropped a hint about his upcoming
project at a press conference in Stockholm for the Swedish release of 'Pusher II'
(With blood on my hands: Pusher 2). He said he is currently in pre-production on
a major action epic titled 'Valhalla rising', which deals with the Vikings' discovery
of the American continent. Mads Mikkelsen, who starred in the Hollywood epic
'King Arthur' as well as 'Wilbur wants to kill himself' and Refn's 'Pusher II', is
attached to play the lead. The director is readying the project for a shoot in
Scandinavia and Canada early next year. (source: NFTF)
Our colleagues over at the website Making of Europa have added another
peek behind the scenes of an upcoming European production here. The film in
question, 'Comme tout le monde' (*Mr. Average), is a true European film that is
produced by Belgian, Luxemburgish, French and German producers as well as
some Canadian money! The comedy, which is lensing Luxembourg, stars Thierry
Lhermitte and is directed by Pierre-Paul Renders. (source: Making of Europa)
More news from Denmark: Susanne Bier, who is currently filming 'Efter
Brylluppet' (After the wedding),her third film in collaboration with screenwriter
Anders Thomas Jensen (after 'Elsker dig for evigt' (Open hearts) and 'Brødre'
(Brothers) ) has sold her latest film to the United States before completing
principal cinematography. “It must be the first time a Danish unfinished film is
licensed to America”, Peter Aalbæk Jensen, CEO of production company
Zentropa said. The film stars Swedish actor Rolf Lassgård and (again!) Mads
Mikkelsen. The production of 'Efter Brylluppet' can be followed here. (source:

So, anyone have a clue *where* in Canada? L'Anse aux Meadows, NF, perhaps? In the summer? Maybe I'll have to take that Labrador - NF ferry vacation, after all, and crash the set. Or if it's even closer to me, get myself cast.$BlogItemBody$>
